Ever want to age in dog years?
Try getting from Etobicoke to Scarborough by 7 p.m. on a weeknight.
Left around 5 p.m.
By 5:04, parked on the 401.
By 5:15, changed lanes 7 times and got passed by a guy walking a dog.
By 5:30, fell asleep and woke up twice.
The rest ? A blur of brake lights.
Eventually, we made it.
To a ballpark somewhere in the outer crust of the Earth, where apparently games last 2.5 hours instead of the standard 2.
The Men in Cleats™ vs. The Men in Hats™.
Final regular season game. Final test of patience.
It was a barn burner. Scarborough made one less mistake, got one more hit, and walked away with the 11–10 win. They didn’t outplay us. They outlasted our ability to dodge friendly fire.
The MG Bats? Six hits total. Marcus and Luca had two each.
Pitching was solid — Marcus, Paul, and Des combined for just 4 earned runs. In a normal game, that’s enough to win.
In this game, that was enough to watch the other team politely take victory and leave their trash in our dugout.
It was one of those games where you decide to start drinking on every day that starts with a T.
Tuesday, Thursday, Today, Tomorrow, Thaturday and Thunday.
