The Black Socks used a Can Opener to start their regular season on the road against the Blue North Yorkydos.  

Did you know the Can Opener was invented 100 years after the Cans were a thing.  

Before this invention, folks used various methods to get inside those goodies. 

Here is my great-great-grandfather making dinner for mother's day.

But I digress…..

Martin’s men took their preseason performance where they gave up 74 runs over two games and , crumpled it like a CRA letter claiming you owe back taxes, ran it over ten times, and lit it on fire.

(Not that I’ve done that. But I highly recommend it.)

This was a pitchers dual, with 9 hurlers seeing action between the two squads.  (5 Blues, 4 Whites)

Yorkers took a 2-1 lead in the 1st and that was all the offence they could muster facing the Groves relievers. 

The men wearing black tied it up in the 5th behind Marcus’s double and took the lead after a Fionn single in the 6th.  

The defence bend, twisted and contorted giving up 10 hits, but held.
