Let me tell you, Martin Stove played a strong game.
Some call it a great game, if you ignore the third inning and the scoreboard.
People are calling it that. A lot of people. Very smart people.
I watched the Martin Stove Shocks — great name, by the way, tremendous name — just dominate out there, except for that third inning.
Probably the most saddest inning in Canuucks baseball. Seven runs. One inning. Errors everywhere. I said wow, that’s a lot of errors.
The rest of the game? Very strong . I call it “The Great Six.” Six innings of using strong strength.
I’ve never seen anything like it. Possibly the greatest six innings in Martin Crocks history.
I talked to Lorenzo — beautiful double. I said to him, “Lorenzo, that swing? That’s what we call a border wall bat. Nothing’s getting past that.”
And the bullpen — these guys — Paul, Jeremy, Marcus — they came in, they threw the ball. Very hard. Very fast. Some say too fast. We’ll look into that. But they handled it.
Real winners. Natural talent. Some say it’s genetic. I don’t know. Maybe.
The umpire — and I say this with total respect, okay — worst umpire I’ve ever seen.
Maybe in the history of umpires.
There was a pitch — I swear, — it bounced before the plate. It bounced! And he called it a strike.
Even in Mexico, they don’t call that a strike.
And this guy — this ump — he’s out there, making calls before the pitch even happened.
It was a disgrace.
Maybe we didn’t win. And the errors? Probably someone else’s fault — we’re looking into it. But next game? We’re gonna win — and we’re gonna win so much, you’ll be tired of winning.
